Today is July 9th

and I'm sitting in my office drinking green tea. I ran to work today in the pouring down rain in rainboots, a skirt, and an umbrella. Its a good day so far. I havent blogged in a REALLY long time, I know. So Im going to try to sum it all up? Starting from the Friday when Candace got here....

Friday (June 25th): Friday was a bad day. I left work early and went with Lily to the airport. The DVF car dropped me off at my place and I then went to Grand Central to pick up Candace where she was waiting. I always forget how pretty she is until I see her again. For dinner Katie, Lauren, Candace, and I went to Blockheads (for the first time) and it was the best mexican and margaritas ever! The margarita is called the Mexican Bulldog (I think). It starts with a full frozen margarita, then a shot of tequila on top, and a coronita with a lime in it upside down. So by the time you're done with the marg, youve had a beer, marg, and a shot. We all stumbled out after one- it was awesome. That night we went to Hudson Terrace. Erin, Allison and Jordan met us for a while. The most memorable moment of that night was my feet hurting. Never have I had to sit down in a club and take off my shoes because they were hurting so bad. Stupid Steven. We actually took a cab to the village, got out, and realized Katie did'nt have her ID because her wallet got stolen and that the bar was $10 to get in sooo we went home.

Saturday (June 26th): Took Candy to 5th, Central Park, SoHo, Canal/China Town, Century 21, Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty, and then for NYC pizza before going home! Thats a lot in one day. it took a lot of convincing to get me to go out but Candy drug me out and we went to Amnesia. It was dead at first but we ended up having a really good time and doing some crazy stuff. We stuck into VIP to some famous guys birthday and had Patron on ice. It was kinda awesome.

Sunday (June27th): We were moving very slow and were very hungover. The plan was to make it across the Brooklyn Bridge and we never made it anywhere near brooklyn. Katie, Katie, Candace, Lauren, and I had a delicious breakfast (at 1pm) at the Morning Star Cafe. Then, in 1000 degree weather we went to Times Square and the Forever 21 there. All of us went to dinner at Cafetasia in the les and it was soooo gooodd and cheap! I had a yummy Duck and rice dish.

Monday (June 28th): I booked my flight to NC Sun night. Went to Bendel's early to take to my designers and they were really understanding which was nice. Everything else that happened for the rest of the day sucked. Delta cancelled my flight as I was just packed. I cancelled my shuttle because i didnt know what to do. When i decided to go to the airport after cussing Expedia out and not talking to Delta i couldnt get another shuttle. I had to take a cab, which should have only been $30. While in the cab, I FINALLY talked to Delta who said the only flight was leaving from JFK at 2:00. When I told the cab driver to go to JFK, not LaGuardia, he had to start the meter OVER because its a flat rate. I ahd to pay the first $13, then the flat $45 plus tip. Once I got there the whole terminal was a wreck. They were cancelling and delaying flights left and right. I dont even know what time we left because I couldnt care anymore. Once we got on the plane and were in line for lift off JFK shut down all runway traffic and we had to sit on the runway for an hour. I got home at 9:30. I dont understand why it took me 12 freaking hours to get from NYC to NC. Ridiculous.

I have a funny story. On the plane, I sat beside a Jewish guy and on the other side was a cute young couple with an 18 month old. He was the cutest and most well-behaved child ever. Long story short: the guy sitting beside me didnt speak to me at all until we were lifting off. He (Joe) asked me why I was in NY and we ended up talking the entire time. He was 21 and grew up in the Jewish community in Brooklyn (which has a rather large Jewish population). He told me all about his religion and entire life. Joe mentioned that women and men are kept separrated until they date which is around 21 or 22. Then he said, "Actually, you're the first girl Ive ever had a conversation with besides my mother and sisters." CAN YOU BELEIVE THAT? ME? I was the first girl hes ever spoke to in his entire 21 year old life. And he picked me, on a plane. Crazy.

The rest of the week was hectic. It was nice to be home because I miss NC and I appreciate it now. The week consisted of Lily, Lily's dad, wine, homecooked breakfast, Goodberry's, Cameron Village, Bailey, DRIVING around listening to music, Red Room, Tobacco Road, Amra's, pool with the girls, drinks by the pool, Coronas, sun, Arthur, Mom and Dad, Mexican with Amber, Joel, and the rents, family bed with the girls, chickentime, being Lily's boyfriend, skyping Ryan and Dave, big TV, laying out with the fam, shopping, naps and Bekah's parents, and mosquitoes. In the middle of all that Christan, Amber, Kat, and I made a road trip up to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to see Rebecca! The roadtrip was enjoyed but the occasion was unfortunate. It was nice to see Rebecca, her family (including Crumpet and Houdini), finally meet Veronica, and her hometown. On the way back we made a stop in Philly to get an authentic Geno's cheesesteak.
